Magnificat

Centuries later,
we're all still listening
to your proclamation;
still waiting for the proud
to be scattered in their conceit,
for the mighty to be deposed,
the lowly to be raised,
the hungry to be filled,
the rich to be empty.

When, we ask --
When?

And still your response guides us:
Let it be
According to Your will.

We keep these things --
ponder them in our hearts --
and wait.
