I love the way --
when I have so much on my mind,
and am so focused
on what was
or is
or might have been
or could be --
this way you have
of nudging me out of my doldrums.
The tenderness of it:
the way you lift my chin and raise my sights;
the feel of your warm breath against my neck;
your touch --
so gentle
despite the discrepancy in our sizes --
never fails to move me,
to shift my focus
away from the barriers in life
and back to you.
