Journeying inward

The long hallway is tempting,
its arches
grand illusion of lofty ideals;
that sense we're in a hallowed space
or on a holy pilgrimage
and yet the figure hovers still,
promising almighty vengeance
in human form
and ghosts are lurking,
wisps of memory
dance teasingly
beyond those heavy glass doors
alluring
deadly
who could tell
unless you're willing
to open the heart and peer in...

So open and vast a white space until the focus turns to the closed door, which seems dwarfed by the figure above. There's an eerie presence and yet curiosity would willingness to risk would push me to open the door.
