I knew
If I waited long enough
You would come.
Perched
like a hunter in a duck blind,
I set out the decoys,
each with its own unique laugh track.
Sure enough,
You showed up,
wanting to be let in on the joke.
Now my ears are sighing
with the sussurance of your turning pages;
I paddle happily in the sea of your smiles.
