Meditation

Petty concerns
drift across the surface,
distracting me
from the still depths below;
mind wanders,
caught by some brief glimpse
of color,
some knot
that needs to be untangled,
some blemishes that mar
the life I'd always hoped
would be smooth.
Thoughts weave their oily web,
create their bright illusion
until a gap --
a noise, a breath --
reminds me of how deep
I need --
and long --
to go.

Oh yes, I can identify with this, the petty concerns that play across the surface, distracting us...

Once again, beautiful, deep and wise words. I always visit and read even, if I may not always comment.

You consistantly post such wonderful work.

Thank you. x
