Whale-watching

Entering therapy
late in life
is a bit like whale-watching
at sunset:
catching snapshots
of the tail-end
of these huge issues
that have been
swimming around
in your head
for years
silhouetted against
all the wisdom
you've accumulated;
that light
that beams across the waters
of your soul...

I offer this poem for this week's "reviving dead metaphors" prompt at The High Calling. You'll find the inspiration for the prompt and the invitation to participate here. The deadline for contributions is May 11.

A very nice Random Act of Poetry. Love the whale-watching metaphor. Thanks for sharing!

Oh, even though you speak of hard things, right here, this is pretty, both the words and the art.

Blessings.
